Welcome to the Out Of Space (working title) wiki. Here you can find all the detailed information regarding the systems in the game. This wiki gets updated at least every Friday.

Rules[]

  • Use the formatting that has been set on other pages, here is an example. This means use bullet points wherever possible. Long paragraphs are forbidden unless absolutely necessary.
  • If the feature requires Design Pillars follow this example.
  • Do not specify hard values like movement speeds, or keybindings, rather link team drive documents that have said information.
  • Whenever creating a new page, link other pages that are relevant. If you mention PlayerCharacter 5 times then link to the PlayerCharacter 5 times.
  • Pages that inflict copyright when adding images or videos will be taken down.
  • If anyone from the team asks a question to you about something you have written on the wiki please update it on the wiki page too to prevent the same question in the future. This way the wiki will organically expand.

The Game[]

Concept art early stage

Out Of Space is a game developed by the studio Double Door Games which is composed of 21 students from Breda University Of Applied Sciences.

This Wiki is currently aimed to be used by developers only and after release the Wiki will be aimed towards consumers.

High Concept[]

As a captain of a space vessel tasked to explore the galaxy, you face off against the hordes of enemies, accompanied by your crew members whose abilities and teamwork allow you to overcome any challenge both within enemy ships as well as in space.

Game Loop[]

In Out Of Space we have two game modes that the player can transition to and from.

The first game mode is on space where the player controls a spaceship and encounters Combat and Traversal Challenges that he/she has to overcome to board spaceships and transition into the on-foot game mode.

The second game mode is On-foot where the player is accompanied by a squad of crew members whose abilities and teamwork allows them to overcome combat challenges.

Both game modes are interconnected and the player can traverse from one to another seemly.
